KELN (Kids Explore Lincoln Nebraska) is ready to hit the airwaves once again!  In this two-week class, you will become a reporter, videographer, segment editor, and newscaster.   The videos produced will share information about  points of interest in the Lincoln, Nebraska area.  The finished videos will be viewable via Podcast (linked from iTunes) and also on Time Warner Educational Channel 21.  Come and join the fun!


Lego Robotics NXT - Canceled - (Grades 5-7)

New NXT kits allow students to create the smartest, strongest and most advanced LEGO® robot ever! LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT includes an all-new NXT Intelligent Brick with 32-bit microprocessor, a sound sensor, an ultrasonic visual sensor, an improved touch sensor, an improved light sensor and easy-to-use PC and Mac programming software.  Maximum of 16 participants.  Two students per robot kit.

Create From Scratch - (Grades 5-7)

Scratch is a programming language developed at the MIT Media Lab that lets kids mix together a wide variety of media: graphics, photos, music, and sounds. Scratch enables students to create their own interactive stories, games, music, and animation for the Web. With this new software kids can program interactive creations and then share their interactive stories and games on the Web.


Photo Journalism- (Grades 7-9)

Create an online portfolio of journalistic photographs and video (Action, Portraits, and Special Effects) using digital cameras, state of the art computers, Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver.
